What Is an Invisible Character?
An invisible character is a Unicode character that usually has no visible mark when displayed. It is still present in the text, even if it looks like an empty space. The Character Counter can help you inspect text, and the Invisible Character Detector can help identify hidden characters in text you have already copied.
Why Does Invisible Text Sometimes Disappear?
Some apps remove formatting characters, trim blank-looking text, or reject characters that are not allowed in a particular field. A platform may also count invisible Unicode characters toward a character limit. If the copied text does not work, try a different character or check the platform’s rules.
What Can I Use Invisible Text For?
People use invisible characters to test how text fields handle Unicode, add blank-looking content where a platform permits it, or create spacing in text. Each app has its own rules, and a character that works in one place may not work in another.
